Tom is a fully qualified member of the British Acupuncture Council, and practices acupuncture in Bristol. He runs a private acupuncture practice from the Natural Health Clinic (Cotham Hill, Bristol), as

well as a low-cost clinc from the same venue. Tom began training in acupuncture and Chinese medicine in 2004, embarking on a 3 year full-time degree course at the University of Westminster. During his training, he treated people with various conditions in the University of Westminster Polyclinic, and the NHS Gateway clinic in Clapham. He now enjoys treating a wide variety of patients and conditions, and regularly attends advanced training courses. These have included tuina (Chinese massage); acupuncture for pregnancy and childbirth; auricular (ear) acupuncture; traditional pulse diagnosis; treating physical pain; and scalp acupuncture for neurological conditions. Tom and his wife Kate Simants also produce videos and multi-media projects, mainly relating to acupuncture. An example is the popular Manual of Acupuncture Multimedia DVD-ROM, a training aid for acupuncture students. See www.boatyardproductions.co.uk for more information.
